Considering that its description in 1831, 3 subspecies of the huge golden-crowned flying fox have been identified, among which is vanished. The vanished subspecies (A. jubatus lucifer) was formerly acknowledged as a full varieties, the Panay golden-crowned flying fox. Previously, this types was put in the category Pteropus; while it is no longer within the category, it has numerous physical resemblances to Pteropus megabats. It is just one of the largest bat varieties in the world, considering up to 1.4 kg (3.1 lb)-- only the Indian as well as terrific flying fox can consider extra.
